Hit the Beaches & Parks

If you’re looking for a fun day on and off the water, look no further than Warwick’s stunning beaches and parks

One of our favorite spots is the saltwater inlet called Oakland Beach. Grab some clamcakes and chowder to enjoy while sitting on the seawall. Enjoy the breeze off the Bay while taking in the views of the majestic Newport and Jamestown Bridges. On Tuesday nights, the grassy commons by the seawall offers a throwback to the past with an antique car show, complete with a DJ spinning oldies' music!

Goddard Memorial State Park offers a variety of activities, including horseback riding, fishing, golfing, competitive sports, hiking and farmers market May- Oct. There's also a family-friendly saltwater beach where you can swim and soak up the sun.

Don't have your own gear? No problem! Outfitters like Rhode Island Paddle Sports are ready to get you on the water.

Explore the Area’s Coastal History

Uncover Warwick's history through outdoor exploration! Snap photos of the area’s beautiful lighthouses and bike to historic landmarks as you delve into the city's rich past.

Guiding ships through the rocky waters of Narragansett Bay for nearly two centuries, the 51-foot-tall Warwick Neck Lighthouse is a testament to Rhode Island's maritime history. It's the last traditional lighthouse built in the state and remains an active Coast Guard station, so it's closed to the public.

Equally iconic is the Conimicut Lighthouse, constructed in 1883 and boasting one of the country's last caisson-style spark plug lights. While not accessible to the public, you can admire it from the scenic Conimicut Point–the perfect spot to unwind after exploring Warwick's rich coastal history and natural beauty.

To dive deeper into Warwick's history, enjoy a self-guided stroll of Apponaug Village, Warwick's charming downtown. Immerse yourself in colonial history as you explore its well-preserved buildings and landmarks.

Spend a Day Golfing

A good time is par for the course in Warwick with its state-of-the-art courses.

Public courses such as Harbor Lights’ nine-hole course, designed by famed architect Geoffrey S. Cornish and set against the picturesque Warwick Cove, allow anyone to participate in some healthy competition. The unique course presents natural challenges such as coastal winds and offers lessons and instructional leagues for youth and adults to challenge themselves even further.

Hike through nature, cast a line in a freshwater pond, or bike around town. Uncover the city's rich history through landmarks and lighthouses or tee off on pristine golf courses. Warwick offers a vibrant tapestry of outdoor activities, ensuring an unforgettable escape for everyone.
